21
st Century Community Learning Centers

On November 16th the Grandfield Elementary School and the 21st Century Program hosted a Grandparents and Parents afternoon. As many of us know Grandparents are our heritage, and are essential members of our families and communities. That is why we set aside a special afternoon to honor our communities Grandparents along with our communities Parents.
Grandfield Elementary gave the opportunity for the community to spend the afternoon visiting and being thankful for those special people in our student’s lives. Grandfield Elementary served over five hundred slices of homemade pumpkin pie topped with whipped topping. The student’s also had the chance to spend this particular time with their family members. They had fun visiting and looking at the creative art and craft projects and together they got to listen to the new and creative songs that each grade sang for them. Music was prepared weeks and even months in advanced; they sang songs from OKLAHOMA to the word hello in many different languages.
Where would we be without our grandparents and parents? For all of us, no matter how old or how young we might be, it is always great to find an occasion to say thank you to our love ones. Grandfield Schools would like to thank the community for the continued support and also thank the grandparents and parents for making the afternoon of memories that can never be replaced!
